David Skyles established a professional practice in 1974. Mr. Skyles established David L. Skyles Architects, P.A. a full service architectural firm in central Florida when he adopted the team approach to the successful design and construction of projects. The key to his successful completion of projects is based on personal attention and management control.

Mr. Skyles' strength is his 35 years experience. He has a high level of understanding of the needs of each project, which are met on a professional level, to produce a quality and respected project.

Projects range from historic preservation to multi purpose, mixed-use projects.

Brief Resume of Professional Experience & Expertise:

  • Project manager, consulting Architect and construction services for private and corporate developers and industries with tasks including complete planning and programming, design, permitting, financing and construction administration and management phases of projects ranging from commercial site developments to Complex multi-use projects, both public and private sector. This also includes turnkey development and construction, "Design and Build".
  • Architect in charge of planning, design development and construction including all utility systems and infrastructure, planning and design for a 196 acre mixed-use project. Master Planning and the D.R.I. for 650,000 SF of mixed use buildings including a 500-room hotel, 420,000 SF of offices and retail shops, corporate office buildings and a fitness and wellness activity center.
  • Design and Construction of miscellaneous ACLF facilities and Nursing Homes including in house medical services.
  • Design and Construction of Sporting and Activity Centers, Multi Purpose buildings, Club Houses with various types and styles of Architecture and Construction.
  • Design and Construction of multi use food service buildings stores and shops.
  • Design and Construction of miscellaneous church related support buildings, programming and master planning.
  • Design, Construction and Interiors Private Surgical Suites, Medical Offices and Hospital related support buildings and specialties. AHCA submittals support and approval processes.
  • Design, Construction Management of medium to large hospitality facilities, hotels, time-shares and resorts.
  • Design, Construction Management Administration of Community and Recreation Centers, including Competition Swimming Pools.
  • Planning, design and administration of large multi-family apartment projects including all amenities and service areas.
  • Planning, design and administration of public school projects, Proto-types designs through remodel using the latest State Requirements for Educational Facilities.
  • General architectural and construction services, planning and programming, management through complete construction.

Key personnel

Robert Beattie
Mr. Beattie is a licensed Structural Engineer with 15 years experience. He has developed a high level of understanding the structural needs of each project. His reasonability’s include structural analysis and design.

 

Kathy Butler
Kathy has a degree in Interior Design and has been with DLS Architects for over 18 years. Her tasks include space planning, selection of materials, finishes, colors and furnishings for Interior projects. She is currently in charge of the Interior Department.

 

Steve Doyle
Mr. Doyle’s responsibilities include technical management of documents, computer programming, Technical drawings and drafting. He is the Sr. Technician for DLS Architects and has been with the firm for 20 years.

 

Claude Manual
Mr. Manual has over 30 years experience in the construction and design industries. He is in charge of cost estimating and construction management. His knowledge of current cost and values is a valuable asset to the firm
